Hair Trends For A/W 14

Hair trends for A/W 14

Time flies when you’re having fun. And the last 5 years have been fun! This month we’re celebrating our 5th anniversary of opening the Raymond Bottone salon in Brentwood.

Taking the birthday theme here are our 5 favourite trends from the runways this Autumn…

1. Autumnal hues for hair

At Raymond Bottone we strongly believe in harmony with the colours and season around us. Autumn is the season of “mists and mellow fruitfulness” and the catwalks are awash with shades of rose-gold, burnished copper and every hue of softened red. All complementing the natural seasonal elements around us.

This autumn is all about keeping your colour simple. Gleaming polished hair with a beautiful tone behind the base colour.

2. Ombré goes into fall

Ombré/Balayage continues to be a popular trend on the high street this A/W 14 and works beautifully with the autumn tones we so love. It’s low maintenance and looks great smooth and sleek or a bit ‘undone’.

3. Messy buns for wintry days

We’ve seen tight buns throughout the Spring/Summer. For the new season try the fashion-forward messy bun – pulled out and roughed up. Just tease the hair with a pintail comb, pulling little pieces out from the donut or self-made bun. This will help create a fab ‘undone’ look. And if the autumn gales blow a little of smoothness out, it’s no problem.

4. In a rush? Try a pony.

Pony tails are just the thing for the time-pressed amongst us. We really love brushing your pony to one side and plaiting it. Don’t worry, it doesn’t want to look too perfect, in fact, a little bit teased and played around is what you’re aiming to achieve. A statement pony or plait.

5. Add va va voom to tousled waves

And finally, if you have a natural wave in their hair you’re in luck this season. Wavy hair graced many runways in Fashion Week. Wear it loose as the fancy takes you and a little tousled. A beautiful haircut is key to this look so chat to your stylist about your hair, preferred styling and lifestyle so they can advise you.
